Raids Uncover Spurious Liquor Trade in Pune

In a significant crackdown, the Daund division of the State Excise Department has seized a massive consignment of spurious liquor worth ₹19,37,78,115. The raids, conducted over two days, resulted in the arrest of three accused and the confiscation of two luxury cars, spurious liquor, and fake packaging materials.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of State Excise, Maharashtra, Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi, and Director of State Excise, Prasad Surve, deputy commissioner Sagar Dhomkar , Superintendent of Excise Charansing Rajput.
The raids were conducted by a team led by Inspector Vijay Rokade, and included other officials such as Deputy Inspector Pradip Jaruk, and constables Sanket Baje, Shubham Bhoite, and Ashok Patil.

The accused were found to be selling spurious liquor in luxury cars, using fake packaging and branding to deceive customers. The seized liquor included branded and foreign liquor, which was being sold at a premium price. The operation has exposed a large-scale racket involving the manufacture and sale of spurious liquor in the region.
